Plans are in the making to make an amazing cook book through our community of local growers and lovers! We would like to collaborate with community organisations, community gardens and schools to produce a wonderful book, showcasing Darwin’s delicious delights.
Our project is called “GULP”- Growing and understanding local produce. It will be a GULP Publication and run through our community group “Food Care NT”, with funding auspiced through the Environment Centre NT.
We have now started stage one of this project-
The project proposes to work collaboratively with different Darwin Community Organisations, to research and develop local food recipes. The project proposed is to produce a resource of garden produce based recipe cards available online and that can then be downloaded or printed- we would like to feature particularly Wet- Tropical ingredients.
Part of the funding to run this project has come from City of Darwin, Community Grants.
Recipes will be contributed from different members of community gardens and community organisations, through interactions with community groups and individuals and in specially run workshops, hopefully including a wide range of people from all backgrounds, showing Darwin’s diversity.
The recipes will then trialled and made into easy to follow instructions, along with interesting harvesting and preparation tips.
So we would like YOUR INPUT.
