Promoting Local Goodness

Gianna and I had an early Sunday Start.Image We were asked to have a stall at Activate NT- Darwin City Council’s new Healthy Living initiative.  We had tropical gardeing and permaculture resources, an example of planter gardening and a beautiful local produce display and info about local produce gardens. [ Seeds were donated to giveaway]

Later on we worked on the garden at our place, a much needed imput! We dug out the lemongrass and Thai basil to make room for  our dry season crops in the compass garden. We put in cucumbers, marigolds, tomatoes and more sweet basil.

Our cyclone clean up trellises are full of wing beans- you can hardly get through them. Crunchy yummy additions to salads. As long as you catch them in time!

Sunday Lunch

We had a beautiful lunch this Sunday with the residents of 99 and Trev. This is local pink grapefruit salad with buffallo riccotta, garden sweet leaf, spring onion, sprouts, mint and grated cucumber and a pinch of salt, a crack of pepper and olive oil – No recipe neccesary

Gianna cooked local Arafura prawns- a very special treat and we try to eat very little sea food. They were pan fried with garlic, lime juice, chilli and garnished with corriander
